Our family has two new members: Buzz and Woody, the Badger Dogs (that's the literal English translation of Dachshund).  Buzz was born on 30 Oct 2005 and won our hearts in late January 2006.  He is the brindle and his namesake is Apollo 11 astronaut Buzz Aldrin.  But when we decided that our Buzz needed a buddy, we found a sweet black-and-tan.  Since we had a "Buzz," we couldn't resist the Toy Story theme and named him "Woody."  He was born on 17 Jan 2006.

The widescreen picture to the left was taken with the still photo mode of the Canon XL-H1 high definition video camera on Auto without custom presets. The pictures below are from a Canon SD500 digital still pocket camera.

Derek and Julie Tied the Knot on April Fool's Day

The big Bauer family event of 2005 was the marriage of Derek to the former Julie Zamora on Friday, April 1st -- yup, April Fool's Day -- in Sedona, Arizona.  But these lovebirds were nobody's fools.  It truly was a beautiful ceremony, followed by an informal family reception at Mom and Dad Marquardt's home, and a big gala formal reception and dance in Phoenix.

The Happy Couple honeymooned in Hawaii.  Here is a short trailer from the video we shot at the wedding:
