Sometimes a company goes above and beyond and you just want to tell someone about it.  Other times, you just gotta say, "Stay away from this one!"

DAaron Brothers Framing, Baybrook Mall, Houston

After $150, two tries and twice as long as they promised, Aaron Brothers Framing managed to permanently damage an original painting while NOT framing it per instructions anyway.

CDUSAA Insurance

Gets both a thumbs up and a thumbs down.  Most importantly, USAA has been an outstanding company to deal with and has settled the few claims I've had over the years promptly and surprisingly fairly.  The thumbs down is for the torrent of junk mail that they refuse to stop sending me even when I specifically called and asked.  I estimate that I receive at least 50 pieces of junk from USAA each year; undoubtedly, it is an underestimate to say that for design, printing, and bulk mailing all this junk it must cost over $100 annually.  I'd rather take that in a reduction of my premiums...they don't need to tell me about themselves; I already do business with them.  If there's more business to be done, I know they're there!

DSprintPCS

I know, they're ALL bad at customer support.  SprintPCS has wasted enough of my time to convince me to completely drop their "service!"  Among many other issues, they have an amazing tendency to fail to post electronic payments...one month I paid 12 days before the due date and -- no surprise -- it took two hours of my time to prove I had paid early and they had just failed to post the electronic transfer until 3 days AFTER the due date!

CMarble Slab Creamery, Kerrville, TX

The weekend we "fled" from Hurricane Rita unfortunately coincided with Olivia's birthday.  All of a sudden she had no hope of a real party and all the fun a girl usually expects when she turns ten.  We went into the Marble Slab to buy an ice cream cake.  Simple - but when I went to pay, the young men behind the counter smiled and said, "It's all taken care of."  What more can I say?  I was deeply touched, and though I can't say whether I'll ever get back to Kerrville, I want to at least say how kind it was of them to treat us to 10th birthday peanut butter cup ice cream cake.
